Weekly, daily, hourly the foundations of a "free" society are being eroded by legislation, statutes, social memes and just plain tyranny. Tried flying anywhere recently? While it is certainly debatable as to whether we have ever lived in a "free" society there certainly have been more options in Europe and North America than other countries under Dictators, Despots or Dumas.
The push to return what gains the public has made since the Magna Carta back into the serfdom of the dark ages are afoot with an increasing crescendo and accelerando. Unless you are so solidly fed by the mainstream media and unaware of what is really going on around you, it is impossible not to miss the blatant examples of the attrition and extinction of personal freedoms and basic human rights in front of us everyday now.

Human rights are freedoms established by custom or international agreement that impose standards of conduct on all nations. Human rights are distinct from civil liberties, which are freedoms established by the law of a particular state and applied by that state in its own jurisdiction.

With the increasing 'corporatization' of government known as corporatocracy, as well as the role of global mega-corps and the international banking cartels in every fabric of human society it becomes patently clear that individual rights, human rights and just plain freedoms are going to be the first casualties of agendas and policies that have neither the best interests or any interests in the well-being of the population.
Many readers will be familiar with the concept of the 'New World Order' as promoted by everyone from H.G. Wells through to the current crop of political parrots and agenda servers. Within that framework of a totalitarian state everyone (that remains) will be more or less, indentured servants to the business and elite interests that control the said order. Currently there are multiple pincers gathering in the threads of that global web.
Policies such as UN Agenda 21 (see The Rio conference, 1992) which fundamentally will limit the size of the population and strictly control where people can live and travel, through Codex Alimentarius, another UN program which will eventually limit or eliminate access to any herbal supplements or organic food on down to local policies on everything from having a garden to determining how much trash you are permitted to produce or the amount of electricity or water you are permitted to use are already in place or being implemented.
The banning of certain herbal supplements/remedies in Sweden, the recent requirement by the FDA in the US that all herbal supplements marketed after 1994 now need to be retested and certified before they can be sold, the raiding of raw food sellers, as well as the impending Bill C51 in Canada (thanks to our Globalist government) are all the mere beginning of Codex policies worldwide.
While the so called debunkers try and claim that resistance to strict regulation and access to Herbal remedies and supplements is just the herbal industry trying to cry foul they conveniently fail to mention that good, compassionate corporate citizens such as big-pharma and big bio-tech have been the primary forces lobbying to get Codex implemented. After all, if people cannot get access to a good supply of vitamins and herbal products as their health fails due to a plethora of variables such as contaminants, additives, decreasing nutritive value in foods and GMO complications who will benefit?
The push to get a 'Global' ID card for all citizens which will eventually become a micro-chip, the legislations allowing for the full monitoring and seizure of web domains, the "radicalization" of people who protest government policies as potential "terrorists", as well as the move for a "cashless" society where we have a debit card or credit chip in us are all real world polices that are either currently being implemented and/or advanced as potential legislation.
With those usual suspects about protecting our health, our security, our economic system etc., etc. trotted out to a misinformed public, just trying to keep our collective head above the relentless torrents of bad news, job losses, economic "uncertainty" and all the other objects that are placed in our way to prevent us moving forward, inward and onwards, we tend to accept more and more draconian legislation.
Many times now governments are so arrogant that they go ahead and pass laws or tag on amendments to laws without the public having any more than the faintest idea (if that) of what is going on.
The increased militarization of the police particularly in the UK and US (soon to be in Canada?) as well as the "deputization" of the military for domestic policing duties and the ongoing onslaught of police brutality incidents that are cropping up like You Tube weeds should be enough to get us all to pause and have a good look at what is going on.
Yes there is a litany of oppressive policies, legislation, mindsets and events out there but that is only because we allow it to happen either through tacit acceptance or willful ignorance. More wars, more misery more, more, more.....but we don't have to accept it as a given. We know or at least suspect, that our broadcasters and media (sorry CBC but you're part of the problem not the solution) are selling us a script written by elite power-brokers who have no compassion or regard for Joe/Jill Q Public.
Our ancestors, fathers, grandfathers, uncles, cousins etc. died in international conflicts because they believed they were fighting for freedom and the protection of the values that we are watching vanish daily. Did they die in vain? Is the new 'I' gadget worth giving up one more freedom or liberty for?
We have the power not just in numbers but also in the innate human capacity of compassion and insight. By not accepting the ever present propaganda of helplessness and the reliance on "experts" and instead putting our hearts and minds into envisioning and actualizing the world we would like to live in we have the power of the Universe "on our side". Most of the control systems have been put in place to misdirect or more diabolically destroy our personal power and abilities.
If we understand this and use our abilities for a positive, caring, creative and abundant world it will happen.
